Jewelry Care Guide
Jewelry Care Guide
All of our jewelry is beautifully handmade in Morocco. Silver, wood and metal are popular materials used amongst artisans, and each requires care. For all pieces, we recommend following the ‘last one on, first one off’ rule. The materials may be sensitive to chemicals in perfumes and sprays, and we do not recommend wearing pieces to bed or in the shower. Here are some tips caring for your Moroccan jewelry.
Wooden Jewelry
Store your wooden jewelry in a dry place, and avoid moisture. You can use a non-abrasive cloth to wipe any dirt or buildup. You may also clean using a cotton cloth to buff in the direction of the wood grain. Avoid exposure to chemicals such as perfumes and repellents.
Silver Jewelry
To maintain the silver’s luster, you may wash your pieces with warm water and soap, and dry with a soft cloth. You can also create your own polish with 2 parts water to 1 part baking soda. Gently scrub with a soft bristle brush. Store your jewelry in a cool dry place. Avoid moisture and wood surfaces, as certain woods may contain acids that mar silver.
Metal Jewelry
Keep your metal jewelry looking beautiful longer by storing in a dry place. You can clean away any buildup with diluted dish detergent; simply let it soak in soapy water for a few minutes. Remove and gently scrub the jewelry with your fingers to remove any tarnish, and rinse with warm water. Let dry.
